To finish a quest

Umm why does franz never finish a quest and reward you for doing so? I will kill a main baddie then bam next quest it kinda kills the game. I should be able to celebrate and party a main quest being finished. Instead it just goes while searching the body you see a shadowy figure in the distance it's like wtf I almost died and get no reward for it yay no thanks
