Quest Completion with Character Modification

Good afternoon, the bug I am reporting has to do with the campaign I am on and how Franz is responding to it. I have picked up an NPC that I believe was not supposed to be a companion, but I have gone through steps and talked with Franz to train her as a Rogue. Franz appropriately converted her class to rogue, however her initial quest was to retrieve a pack for her. Even though I have retrieved it and completed the quest, Franz continues to tell me that the quest cannot be updated and I need to go to the Quest Log to manually update it. But since it is not a personal quest, I am unable to modify it as complete.
