Not giving long rest

I in multiple ways requested a long rest from Franz for the party. First telling him that we all return to our rooms and sleep for the night. Then when he moved to the next day, I switched to OOC and requested that all characters receive the benefits of a long rest and instead he awarded my character and two other party members additional XP for the quest we had completed. I had to then manually change everything for each individual character in the party.
