Minor Credits for “Inspiration”

I noticed some users suggesting various ways to earn credits here, often through spending existing credits and receiving a diminished return, or simply buying the credits directly. How about allowing the AI to award a limited number of credits to a user once every predetermined span of time (as long or short as you find appropriate)? The key will be that the credit(s) would only be able to be earned if the user plays their character in line with how they were designed (also known as “In-Character”), as determined by a random number, of traits (mainly those described in the Personality and Mannerisms section of the character design) that would be shared with the AI to allow it to calculate if the user should earn the reward. This system could overall be termed something like “Inspiration” based on the practice of some DMs and GMs who award a player an advantage on a roll of their choosing because they were very pleased with the player’s ability to act as their character and move the plot line forward in a particularly artful way. With this system, non-paying users can still be satisfied that they have a method of earning credits that they have a sense of more control over, without actually giving away credits so freely since free users only have a limited number of interactions or rolls with the AI, and this mechanic randomizes the number of “in-character” behaviors they must display in a single interaction or post to earn the reward.

This method additionally rewards the continued playing and return to the game, without the frustration that may arise from users having to rely solely on chance. By acting as a source of credits, this suggested approach can help supplement existing sources of credits and support the implementation of other suggestions surrounding credits (mentioned here earlier). When this is done, more users effectively make use of the credit system and are more likely to either buy credits, or subscribe to a monthly or yearly membership so they can get better or faster access to content.
