I find the AI NPCs will repeat the same three facts without any change or variation regardless of your roll. The AI also focuses on the same phrases ‘It’s a key’ ‘there must be something’ ‘it did this’ without expounding on anything. The NPCs will provide no evidence, or argument or try to convince you. Instead they just repeat the same thing till you agree with them railroading you down a specific path. the storyline in both campaigns was a ‘primordial being’ from ‘before’ there was anything regardless of the backstories. I.e. the PC had a backstory trying to find the dragon that gifted his original bloodline, NPC Niardi has a backstory trying story that she grew up on the streets, NPC Nowe has a backstory that he’s investigating his Queen’s murder. Yet we end up chasing a ‘primordial creature with ancient magic’ that my sorcerer was unable to decent with a Nat 20 because it was too ancient. Oh… and the RNG generator. Over 50+ rolls I averaged a 7.5… 3 points lower than the statistical average of a d20.
