Infinite memory not working at all.

I tried to call out to the sky to an NPC that I released into the air as a cloud early in the campaign. The DM seemed confused, so I tried to remind it of the events that took place and the circumstances that surrounded the NPC, and it wasn’t able to recall any of the numerous points I made. Additionally, at one point about half way back through the campaign, I asked how many Memories it had made, and it said 101, which is wildly inaccurate, and should have been in the thousands by then. At that time I tried to ask it something, and it was able to recall information from earlier points in the story well before 101 memories ago, but now it seems incapable. It seems like the memory is not infinite, and if it is, its not able to access memories after a certain point even when prompted with relevant information.
