Improving Accessibility for Blind Gamers

Dear Friends & Fables Dev Team,

I’m a blind player and loyal user of your platform. Franz 2.0 is an incredible step forward, and I believe a few targeted accessibility improvements could make it the top choice for the blind gaming community.

Why Accessibility is a Must

There is a large, passionate community of blind gamers looking for a truly usable platform. Better accessibility will lead to great word-of-mouth, strong support in disability communities, and real user growth.

My Suggested Improvements

1.

Accessible Labels: Every button, icon, and interactive image needs a clear text label for screen readers. Avoid "generic button" announcements.

2.

Keyboard Navigation: All controls must be reachable with Tab / Shift-Tab. Focus should be clearly visible. Avoid "keyboard traps" in modals.

3.

Keyboard Shortcuts: Provide hotkeys for frequent actions. Offer a way to see these shortcuts and, if possible, .

4.

Proper HTML Semantics & ARIA: Use native elements (<button>, <input>) when possible. When using ARIA roles, ensure they are correctly implemented with states like aria-pressed or aria-expanded and are compatible with tools like NVDA.

I am happy to help with NVDA testing. I truly believe these refinements could make Franz the digital RPG of choice for blind gamers.

Thanks for your hard work!

— Luca
