Give some minor but better control of the context memory wise.

Things may be working in the background naturally. But wanted to toss this out as a reminder at least that from my point of view playing the game. Going from full control over the memory and which was in context to zero control has been unpleasant. Naturally fully understanding/agree with why the change was made.

But I would like some minor level of control of say 10-15 memories even if they fall off or unlock after a dozen messages naturally. Currently the best work around I have is to have the main character ‘remember‘ the events as if in a flashback in a dumb amount of detail for a message or two to create new memories to get the same control I used to have in the old system.

Naturally, this isn’t always smooth and can be narratively jarring when I have to stop to sudden recount the events of the past just to get it so the random vendor I’ve sold to a dozen times actually remembers that my character is there to pick up a order he placed 2 days ago and NOT the items he sold to them months ago as often happens in the current search system because this npc and the character likely has hundreds of memories tied to them.

I want to finish to note. I also understand and suspect I’m the odd one out over here on this hill so to speak about the memory update. I know I haven’t seen anyone else save one comment I think in the past few weeks that wasn’t glowing or loving it the changes. And I do agree that in fresh or shorter overall campaigns it has been a huge improvement. But I still don’t enjoy playing my long lasting campaign since the change as keeping Franz in line has proven more frustrating then fun. Esp when I correct a NPC on something and the reply I get is to tell them the whole story, that I told them last time, just because they love a good story. Which naturally I have little to no desire to go over every little detail that we talked about last time just because I can’t get the right context pulled into the message.

The above is a example messaged that caused me to stop trying to run/play the long campaign. Just me/character just trying to pick up a few necklaces that was SUPPOSE to be done that day the character arrived. Only to be done they aren’t ready yet and/or the one making them doesn’t even remember what I was talking about at first. Or was trying to have me PAY them again even when they were paid in full already.

100% Broken record I know. But this was something, for me, that was EASY to fix and remedy before. Now I just can’t control anything related to what is being used.
