Franz will not remove items from inventory as they are sold or dropped in dialogue

When bartering or selling items, Franz will not remove the sold items from the inventory. I have to do it by hand. When I sell items he also removes the gold im supposed to be given from my inventory. I must constantly remind him to remove sold items from my inventory or return my gold to me after I sell something because he mistakes the transaction for me giving gold.
