I believe it would be very cool to eventually have a quest journal tab that both players and the AI manage. Ideally I believe this would be separated by main quests and side quests, and perhaps even a “rumors” tab or (something like that).
Perhaps within this Quest journal we could have a “long-term narrative checker” tab where players could potentially assign ideal long-term narrative directions - perhaps the items in this LTNC list could be invisible to the AI until the player “submits” the particular long-term narrative item into play within the story - this would then hand the item over to the AI to slowly implement into the main narrative as an objective story element.
Additionally, NPCs could have a “quest Focus” tab or “narrative ideation” that we could set or the AI could set automatically that manipulates that NPC's potential narrative focus so that franz could eventually slip in a new Quest request from the NPC to the main player when appropriate during dialogue - as would happen organically in a RPG.
