Mass Combat/ Large Scale Combat

I’d love to see mass combat in Friends & Fables. The core idea is that your PC can merge with a combat unit—squad, platoon, company, etc.—and assume command of it, giving the unit bonuses based upon the player’s class. While merged, you play the unit as a single entity; when you leave, you revert to your individual character.

At the most basic implementation, each unit has two health pools:

  1. Manpower (number of surviving soldiers)

  2. Morale

  • Damage multipliers for fighting units of lower echelons (i.e., a platoon would do 3 times damage to a squad/team, a company would do 3 times the damage to a platoon, etc.)

  • Units advance through four tiers: Recruit → Regular → Veteran → Elite.
