Flexible Nearby NPC's Setting

First bit, I know it depends how things are coded for such a minor thing to be worth the time to consider doing. And it’s a very minor gripe I’ve ran into personally.

But for world building at least, I would like to be able to set the distance that NPC’s are considered ‘Nearby‘ in terms of showing up in the list of npcs in the bottom right of the UI elements. By default it seems to around 300m distance wise. Which works in 95% of cases. But I’ve found over the weeks working on my world, and playing in it as well. That some of my towns and cities are becoming crowded in some areas such as the market square or district.

This is resulting for me some parts of a town where I have well over half a dozen if not close to a dozen NPC’s while my party is buying goods in the market. While not a core issue in itself, I don’t mind the long list of npcs being there. The issue I run into is that many of these npcs keep trying to come over and join in the conversation my party is having with the vendor they are trading with.

Again not a major dealbreaker, and it occurs so it happening now and then it’s not a issue. But if I don’t try to control it. I’ve had someone always trying to jump into the conversation only to add nothing to it, leave the scene to only again be followed by someone else/new walking over making a minor comment then leave as well if that makes sense.

Please authenticate to join the conversation.
