Double attacks in combat

I’ve noticed multiple encounters where an attack occurs twice. Once on my turn, and then again on the next turn if my ally does something. He just moved, and then it says he observed the scene where I previously dealt seven damage. Then it adds the damage again and kills the enemy, even though nothing has occurred.
