Personally, I really want a system where we can add custom spells to an item. So when the item is equipped, a character can use that spell in combat as if it was their own. You can kind of get around this by putting a description of a spell the wearer can use on the item, but when in turn based combat mode Franz really hates it and only allows effects from those items part of the time. I would also want a more advanced spell creation system to allow for specific targeting and add specific stats. Exactly what I would want is listed below
Being able add custom Spells and abilities to items
Being able to select the usage rate of the spells (Unlimited, once per short rest, twice per long rest, once per long rest, etc.)
Be able to choose target (Enemy, Ally, everyone, yourself.)
Add specific stats to targeted entity. (e.g. a spell that turns myself into a werewolf, I could set the spell to target myself and set it to increase rolls, in this case attack rolls, by 2 and give advantage on those rolls. Another is buffing an ally with 3 temp health and giving them immunity to a damage type)
Add durations to abilities and spell type. (e.g. spell lasts 5 turns and is a concentration spell or a ritual spell)
Add an optional cone effect to the spell in addition to its range. (e.g. 20 degree cone to a 360 degree circle
Descriptions do a lot of work in this game but in combat Franz really hates going off of descriptions alone, so having dedicated stats for him to pull from I feel will make combat a lot more enjoyable. I think it would also help memory, as the ai wont have to go off of complex descriptions and remember them when they can just pull the stats.
